Creating the right environment The Man Utd Way
ADD US TO YOUR FAVOURITES!

"A learned behavior often cannot be performed unless there is the right environment for it. Educators must provide the incentive and the supportive environment for the behavior to happen. Otherwise, assessment may not be accurate."

This is true of any coaching session you put on. What are the players learning from your session? Is the session conducive to learning? Are you as a coach telling the players what to do constantly? Is there any room for player led development?

Do your players know how to take a coaching session? If not it probably means that you have full control. It also probably means that they are not learning effectively!

Get players to do their own warm ups - educate them!

Tips:

Get all your players to make their own code of conduct for training and matches
Give each player responsibility in either training or on match days - dont put all the equipment out for them all the time!
Assign players to be captain on different occaisions again giving the feeling of responsibility
Let your players take their own coaching sessions - you'd be surprised with the results!
Increase player-led sessions - ask more questions without telling answers!
Design sessions that 'teach the game' rather than stopping play to communicate verbally with players!
